Season V has ended on 31st of December, 2023.
The following patch notes may no longer be relevant. Please refer to the individual gameplay feature sections for the most updated information.
Hello fellow gamers!
In this patch, we'll dive into some mechanical changes, yet again, to Vanilla Enchantments, Wither Boss & Player Shops, introducing some revamped Exalted Enchantment mechanics and lastly, Towns, a hybrid mechanic bridging both Gangs and Player Protection into one.
Previously, we've introduced a new mechanic that allows players to obtain Vanilla Enchantments at random so every enchantment feels exciting to do and it was a good run until we decided to enable the integration of custom enchantments and custom enchanting level thresholds, which resulted in inconsistent synchronization with vanilla Minecraft's enchanting system, especially since it was not made to support enchanting above level 30.
Today, we're reverting it back to the enchanting system that you know, which ensures that the enchantment shown will always be guaranteed. However, we will be making a minor change to it.
Enchantments made via the Vanilla Enchanting Table no longer requires lapis lazuli. Lapis lazuli will now always be auto-supplied in Enchanting Tables. Lapis will now be utilized in Exalted Enchantments instead!
Vanilla Experience Level will now be fully consumed upon enchanting via the Vanilla Enchanting Table (just like pre-1.8!).
This means a Tier III enchantment will always consume 30 levels worth of Vanilla Experience and vice versa.
Wither Boss as all we know, can be summoned naturally in Vanilla Minecraft but in TrixyCraft, facing the Wither is about to get amped up!
Introducing TrixyArena, a custom battle arena specially made just for players to take on bosses, 1v1 style! (or multiple, in future arenas!)
Our first Arena fight will be dedicated to the lovely Wither Boss. I will not leak too much information about the customized Wither variant itself so it is up for you, to take on the challenge and slay it yourself, warrior style.
Accessing an Arena requires an Arena Ticket, which can either be crafted or purchased from the Arena Master. For the Wither Boss, the ticket itself can be crafted utilizing the following crafting recipe:
Initiating an Arena has its associated cost. This cost is not refundable once an arena is engaged, i.e., if you leave the Arena or died in the Arena at any point, it will automatically count as a loss and any costs associated to it will be void! This includes your Arena Ticket.
An Arena is a shared region. What this means is that once a player initializes an Arena, other players will not be able to join it while the session is active.
However, you can spectate your fellow players while they are fighting in an Arena!
All Arenas closes 45 minutes prior to daily server reboots and opens 30 minutes after daily server reboots, i.e.,
Arenas open at 0030 HRS, after the first daily server reboot, then closes at 1115 HRS, prior to the second daily server reboot at 1200 HRS.
Arenas open at 1230 HRS, after the second daily server reboot, then closes at 2315 HRS, prior to the first daily server reboot (in the next day) at 0000 HRS.
What counts as a lost in Arenas:
Disconnecting
Dying to the Mob(s)
Dying due to exiting Playable Zone
What counts as a win in Arenas:
Successfully slay all alive and required Mobs.
If an Arena is:
Kit Enabled: This means you will not be using your own inventory and instead, there will be pre-made kits available for you for selection.
You must select a kit prior to taking on a fight! If you fail to select a kit, a generic kit might be assigned to you which severely impacts your boss fight.
Separate Inventory: This means your own inventory will not be used and vice versa. This setting is commonly used together with 'Kit Enabled' setting above.
All Arenas have
Keep Inventory enabled. You will always retain your items and this includes your Vanilla Experience, even if you were to die in an Arena!
Durability Loss disabled. Any durability costs will not incur in Arenas.
Command Usage disabled. You will not be able to use any of your existing commands, while in an Arena.
TrixySkills enabled. You can utilize your TrixySkills abilities, if necessary. All your stats will be included in Arena fights.
Prior to Arena fights, you will be placed in a lobby. This is where you can select your kits or forfeit the Arena fight itself (which still counts as a loss!).
Remember to select a kit here! You do not want to be disadvantaged.
Arena warmup timer is defaulted at 60 seconds, for all players.
If you are ready, simply update your 'Ready State'. The warmup timer will be reduced to 15 seconds when all players are ready.
Lastly, remember to have fun while you're at it, and good luck!
Back then, Player Shops were implemented utilizing Villagers since you can no longer make trades with them so this was the mechanic to keep Villagers in the loop so they still have a purpose.
However, there are various technical limitations associated with it, i.e., you can't really trade with your balance and such mechanic is impossible to be implemented within Villagers as well, since Villager Trading requires strictly matching items, which then also impacts your ability to request for custom items when randomized stats is involved.
Limiting this to a form of currency, Emeralds, is good to streamline the player economy but introduces unnecessary complexity in trading. Thus, to streamline the whole process (and maybe the return of Villager Trading after fine tuning), we will be revamping Player Shops' mechanics.
Note: With this change, hiring a Villager will now be temporarily disabled. Additionally, since this feature is tied to Player Ranks, you will be able to place Player Shops once Player Ranks are released.
Player Shops will replace the Player Shops you unlock via Player Ranks.
5 / 8 (+3) / 12 (+4) / 17 (+5) / 23 (+6) / 30 (+7)
You gain 2 Player Shops automatically in every Rank Cache (starting from Viscount) for free, up to 12 in total.
You can purchase additional Player Shops via the Master Merchant at additional costs.
There is no limit on how many you can purchase but your Player Rank will restrict you from placing Player Shops that exceed your current limit.
To create a Player Shop, simply place down the Player Shop block and you can start your setup and configurations from there, all GUI based! From there own, everything should be self explanatory, no commands required!
To purchase or sell items from and to other players, you will still need to travel to their shop to perform the action.

In this patch, we'll be releasing Exalted Enchantments. Previously, we relied on more of an external implementation which resulted in plugin conflicts against ours and ultimately, it made it significantly harder to address the enchantment issue that was mentioned above and to integrate custom enchantments within the Enchanting Table.
Now we'll be doing enchantments our own way! Consider this first iteration of enchantment release to be as vanilla friendly as possible.
Exalted Enchantments can be primarily obtained in 2 ways:
Exalted Enchantments have a low chance to appear on your items for Tier III enchants. Certain Exalted Enchantments may also appear on Tier II enchants, at a significantly lower chance and limited to Unique rarity enchantments.
The obtaining rates of Exalted Enchantments have been increased for Tier III, compared to our initial rates, albeit it should still remain relatively low.
Exalted Enchantments obtained via the Vanilla Enchanting Table will never be the maximum level of the enchantment itself.
Up to a maximum of 2 Exalted Enchantments are rolled per enchant and each roll requires the total Enchantments on your item, Vanilla or Exalted, to not exceed 4 in total.
Bookshelves no longer affect the chances of obtaining Exalted Enchantment.
Exalted Enchantment Books no longer have success and failure rates, but instead, each enchantment book have additional drops associated to it and the rates of receiving the actual enchantment book itself corresponds to the Enchantment Tier.
However, if you successfully examined an enchantment book of any tier, they will always be applied successfully on your item, just like Vanilla Enchantment Books. This was not the case previously.
Applying an Exalted Enchantment Book can be done via a traditional Anvil, alongside its associated combine costs.
They can also be combined together in a traditional Anvil, to achieve a higher level of the enchantment itself, just like how you would with normal Vanilla enchantments.
We've made the change to utilize traditional Anvils instead, since you could no longer repair Iron+ items, this mechanic should introduce new usage aspects to the Anvil itself.
Additionally, there is currently no limit on how many total Enchantments are allowed on a single item, as long as the enchantment is applied onto the applicable items and do not conflict with another existing enchantment.
Introducing Towns, a hybrid solution to both Player Protection and Gangs! Are you a leader or a follower?
With Towns, you can now perform land claims in the Wilderness, enabling you to denote which specific regions are owned by you and your Town! Each singular land claim will always have the size of 1 singular chunk, covering 16x16 blocks and infinite height!
Default
This is the default type when performing a land claim.
Town Plot
On claimed lands, you can modify the claim type to be a Town Plot.
Within a Town Plot, you can grant access to players (not necessarily within your Town) to modify or interact with that specific region.
Town Farm
On claimed lands, you can modify the claim type to be a Town Farm.
Within a Town Farm, spawners and crops are affected by your Town level. Increasing amounts of Town levels boost spawner spawn speeds and crop growth speeds, at random.
Within a claimed region:
Access is limited to players within that specific Town. Other players that are not in your Town will not be able to interact nor modify your regions unless you explicitly modify the rules that define your land claims.
Town Mayors or Trustees can modify land rules, which allow you to modify specific aspect of your land claims:
Explosion Damage
Fire Damage
Mob Griefing
Monster Spawning
Public Build Access
Public Container Access
Public Farm Access
Public Interact Access
PvP
We've introduced additional UI changes to all containers, enchantment glint, inventories as well as the font! These are custom textured so do let me know if you guys are okay with them or not. I purposefully made it dark since dark mode is nicer but hopefully you guys would like it.
In terms of the font, it is sort of experimental as well, and I will either update it or revert it back to the original Minecraft font, depending on your feedback.
Go ahead and have a look at them in-game! Following this, there may also be retextures happening to certain GUI Items, Rank Emblems, Vanilla Items & etc., so stay tuned!
Purchasing them rewards you with various cosmetical customization options such as Player Tags, Particle Effects, Item Skins and some small helpful perks to help you along your journey in TrixyCraft!
But of course, you can still continue to play even if you do not purchase them, no strings attached!
There's other things planned for the future, such as new mechanics, custom mobs like animals, custom blocks like furniture, some systemic reworks including Player Upgrades & much more!
Of course, Player Rank Rewards and Rank Lounges are in the priority list too.
However, things do take time as TrixyCraft's features are mainly implemented by just myself and hand tested by both KinRyuuu and I. Additionally, transitioning to v1.20 broke a lot of stuff and I don't plan on rushing out unfinished stuff just for the sake of having it so I hope that you understand this and I am certainly thankful if you decide to invest your time in playing TrixyCraft!
So what happened to some of the stuff in v5.1.0?
They're actually in the game! But for some, it might appear as soft-locked as I do not believe the feature or mechanic is up to my expectations (or they are affected by the version transitioning) but they'll be available eventually and progressively.
What else?
On top of these additional content, my main priority is server performance, which explains why there was a lot of server maintenance sessions that occurred previously, especially in the first month of launching TrixyCraft and will require to be maintained consistently even when new stuff launches.
Lastly, I do acknowledge that certain stuff / items are harder to get or simply can't be automated effectively and coupled with additional mechanics, it might seem a bit grindy at first but the ultimate goal here is to provide you with various gameplay opportunities and rewarding at the same time with the progression system.
That's it for now, I hope that you enjoy the update!
Players can now utilize the /stuck command while in the Protected Zone in the Overworld to descend a fixed amount of blocks to unstuck themselves.
You will not be able to ascend so if you purposefully descend below the surface level, your only way out is to wait for your next /spawn cycle.
There is a short cooldown imposed between each descend.
There's also Daily Rewards now, which you could claim by just doing some simple Daily Quests!
To access them, simply do /dr
in game.
TrixyLevel progression tab is now enabled and in full effect.
Vanilla Experience drops from Hostile & Levelled Mobs have been increased overall.
Wither Boss can no longer be summoned in all Overworld regions (yes, this includes Nether & the End).
Shards and Keys can now be used in the crate area at Rose Lake. Do note that the loot tables may be updated from time to time!
Identified a bug where TrixySkills - Foraging could remove whole trees at all levels when the amount of blocks that could be broken is intended to scale with the ability level. This was not intended but no changes are made here.
Removed mob stacking since they do not benefit the server's performance that much.
Fixed a bug where TrixyLevel announcements are not triggered upon reaching levels > 24.
Fixed a bug where Spawner Mobs are dropping custom items such as Flasks.
Fixed a bug where Shop Tax isn't applied at all. You should now expect lower selling prices all across the board; there should not be any further increases in purchasing prices on the other end. If you have sold or purchased items prior to this change, your balance will remain unaffected.
Reintroduced the ability to place Wither Skeleton Skulls in all Overworld regions (they will no longer spawn the Wither).
Modified Mending Forge Repair Scroll costs to Vanilla Experience Points instead of Vanilla Experience Levels to enable players to craft multiple Repair Scrolls at once without incurring higher EXP costs at higher levels.
Reduced all Repair Scrolls crafting costs, in terms of Currency and Vanilla Experience.
Repair Scroll drop rates from Natural Ores slightly reduced.
