Season V goes live on 12th September.
Season V has ended on 31st of December, 2023.
The following patch notes may no longer be relevant. Please refer to the individual gameplay feature sections for the most updated information.
Hello fellow gamers!
It's time for TrixyCraft Season V: Evolved! In this new season, we're spicing things up with new mechanics, empowered progression, evolving mobs and much more!
Here's a quick rundown on Season V. If you require additional information on the changes below, simply click on the individual sections which will directly link you to the corresponding article.
Server Info, Version, Texture Packs
This section is important. You can be as lazy as you want and skip everything below after.
The implemented server version is based on MC v1.20.1. Ensure that you have the proper installation of Minecraft!
Since MC v1.20.1 is more resource intensive, for both the server and you, we've prepared a performance optimization guide that you could utilize, as a player, for better gameplay experience.
Upon joining, it is vital to accept the Texture Pack! This texture pack is custom made to be used in TrixyCraft and is safe to use. Once you accept it, wait for the download to complete and it will automatically setup for you. You will not be able to play if you do not accept it.
Lastly, probably the most awaited piece of information
Custom World Generation
This season, we're bumping things up a notch by introducing customized and unique Custom World Generation mechanics.
What you can expect from this is increased diversity in biomes and structures, increased size and depth for general chunk generation and various other structural changes.
Additionally, ores are now scattered in high density in caves, which increases the amount of resources you can obtain while mining.
You will still be able to find Natural Vanilla Minecraft structures.
Player Ranks & Rewards Revamped
Player Ranks are now modified to reflect and award player investments appropriately and no longer serves as a roadblock to various other gameplay features. Although it is still necessary to unlock certain quality-of-life / progression upgrade related features, it no longer inhibits vanilla Minecraft gameplay.
Some key factors:
Prestiging is now removed to remove the unnecessarily complex grinding mechanics.
Rank Requirements now set based on Currency and TrixyLevel only.
Rank Requirements significantly reduced on early levels.
Additionally, any commands unlocked via Player Ranks no longer require additional currency to unlock or use.
Player Progression
TrixyLevel is back and perhaps for the greater good this time! Progression has always truly been a painful thing to balance. Technically, it shouldn't be something easily achieved, yet shouldn't be a grind either and especially considering various other factors such as players that only play for the grind while others take it slow.
TL;DR:
Every 5 levels is a milestone. Milestones grant you guaranteed rewards such as Currency, Shards, Custom Items and various other attribute unlocks!
Critical Levels will be present prior to levels that serve as a rank requirement for a specific rank. These levels are usually harder to achieve and could be a bit grindy as rank goes by.
The primary reasoning they're here is that we don't want everything to be a grind from the start to the end. By enforcing certain levels to be harder while providing incentives, which in this case, the ability to rankup, it provides players with a progression curve between each rank.
Critical Levels serve as a milestone itself.
We'll be testing a very lenient and linear progression metric which makes it easier for players to level up, but this may require balancing, depending on the statistics.
TrixySkills, Power Level & Stats
As you play and venture in TrixyCraft, you gain experience for a wide range of TrixySkills. They range over 15 different skills which you gain experience for performing certain actions tied to the corresponding skill. For certain skills, you can unlock and progressively upgrade your active Skill Ability while you progress as well.
For each level that you gain, you might've guessed it, contributes towards your Power Level. Your Power Level represents how strong you are in TrixyCraft. The higher level you are, the more items you get to wield, the more consumables you get to craft, the more items you get to upgrade and so much more.
Additionally, as you grow in Power Level, your player stats, which ranges across 6 categories (Strength, Health, Regeneration, Luck, Wisdom & Toughness) will grow as well. These will come in handy before you even know it!
Mobility
Being able to teleport is great and although you usually won't be able to do that legitimately in Vanilla Minecraft, we think it's best to introduce additional mobility so players can at least enjoy the rank-specific commands that they've unlocked.
Significantly reduced all teleportation cooldowns to 1 hour.
This applies to all teleportation commands such as /spawn, /tpa, /home & etc.
Teleportation warmup of 15 seconds (base).
Warzones & Mutated Mobs
Warzone is a battleground mechanic introduced in TrixyCraft. Warzones host a multitude of Mutated Mobs which players could fight for various loot!
Some important factors:
Warzones will require a Map unlock and specifically for only Warzones, Map unlock expires after 7 days. This means that you would need to craft another Map unlock for Warzones once every 7 days if you would like to maintain access.
Every player spawns in the middle of Warzone, which is a combat-disabled region. Exiting the protected zone exposes you to both PvP and PvE damage.
Mutated Skill Rating and Tier increases the further away you are from the middle of Warzone.
Natural Regeneration is disabled in Warzones.
Additionally, Potions, Enchanted Golden Apples & typical survivability items are disabled in Warzones.
Golden Apples and Enderpearls have a cooldown imposed upon usage in Warzones.
Accessing a Warzone requires a Traversal and is associated with a cost and Traversal Cooldown. During Entry and Exit Traversals, you will lose everything in your inventory!
To transport your items while Traversing, you would need to place your items in a Safe Chest.
A Safe Chest is usually available at Rose Lake, spawn of Warzone, near Collectors and near Exit Portals.
You start off with a limited amount of slots but you will progressively obtain more as you level up (TrixyLevel).
To safely exit a Warzone, you will need to locate any 4 of the Exit Portals located in Warzones.
Each Exit Portal imposes a cooldown on usage so you may not repetitively utilize the same Exit Portal within a short time frame.
Dying in a Warzone teleports you back to your Spawn and you will lose all your items, including items in your Safe Chests.
Most commands are disabled in Warzones.
Gear, Weaponry & Tools (GWT)
This section applies to items of Iron & above only.
We've made a couple, if not, various changes to Gear, Weaponry & Tools (GWT) every season and previously it was either too hard to obtain to a point where it inhibits progression or they're nerf to a point where its not really worth having them anymore.
Well, here's to a new revamped GWT crafting and attribute system. This is actually quite lengthy but here's a TL;DR:
Regardless of counterpart types, GWT are completely modifiable, enchantable and repairable (via a new Mending mechanic)
All GWT crafted via Natural Resource Ingots will result in Natural Counterparts.
Natural Counterparts are less efficient in providing durability values.
All GWT crafted via Purified Resource Ingots will result in Pristine Counterparts.
Pristine Counterparts provide Vanilla level durability and stats but can be upgraded further.
Pristine Counterparts come fused with a colored Gem Socket.
Pristine Counterparts may or may not come with additional attribute modifiers.
All GWT crafted via Refined Resource Ingots will result in Refined Counterparts.
Refined Counterparts provide significantly increased durability and stats and can be upgraded further.
Refined Counterparts come fused with 2 colored Gem Sockets.
Refined Counterparts may or may not come with additional, stronger, attribute modifiers.
GWT Mechanics, Stats, Skills, Gem Sockets
In Vanilla Minecraft, the amount of armor you have reflects the amount of protection that you have which is further enhanced by enchantments, up to a capped amount.
This cap is no longer present in TrixyCraft and now all GWT statistics, for the most part at least, uses a logarithmic scaling and what this means is that, the more stats that you have on an item, the value it provides will always increase, but of course, minimally at higher levels due to the scale.
Introducing new (and existing) mechanical stats:
Armor - decreases the overall damage that you take.
Armor toughness - decreases the overall durability damage taken.
Block Rating - decreases the amount of damage that you take.
Block Power - the amount of damage reduction when Block triggers.
Parry Rating - deflects an incoming attack which also knocks back your enemies.
Dodge Rating - completely negate an attack.
Haste - decreases the cooldown of a specific metric, i.e., Parry, Block & etc.
PvE Rating - damage modifier to all non-players.
PvP Rating - damage modifier to all players only.
Attack Damage - base damage that your item deals.
Weapon Damage - additional on-hit damage that your item deals.
Skill Damage - additional damage that your skills (active ability) deals.
Projectile Damage - additional damage that your projectile deals.
Magic Damage - additional magic damage that your item deals.
Physical Damage - additional damage modifier to your Skill / Weapon damage.
Defense - flat damage reduction from all incoming damage sources.
Damage Reduction - reduction in damage for a specific category, such as Projectile / Magic & etc.
Undead Damage - additional damage dealt to Undead Mobs.
Lifesteal - regain partial health based on damage dealt. (This is different from Custom Enchantments as this is guaranteed proc!)
Spell Vamp - regain partial health based on damage dealt via your skills (active ability).
Health - increases or decreases your max health.
Movement Speed - increases or decreases your movement speed.
Attack Speed - the cooldown between each successive hits.
Critical Strike Chance - the chance for you to critically strike (without actually jump hitting)
and many more!
Of course, these are new stats which may or may not be that common to find all of them in one piece and you'll most likely only see common ones upon crafting. However, keep in mind that these are the possible combinations of stats that you potentially can have on your GWT!
Skills and Gem Sockets
Now you might heard skills before from TrixySkills, this is a bit different from that. These skills are linked to your GWT! Think of it as an active ability for your item specifically.
In order to obtain an active ability on your items, naturally, you would need to have an item that has at least 1 empty Gem Socket and you will also need to obtain a Gem Stone that contains an Active ability. Additionally, your Gem Stone's type must match the type on your Gem Socket.
Skills may come in active or passive abilities, some may require a right-click to trigger and some may not. Don't worry, it'll be shown in-game if you do obtain them.
Mending
No, this is not the Mending enchantment. That is still disabled because fuck Mending.
However, we are introducing a new Mending mechanic in TrixyCraft. All GWT crafted can only be repaired through Mending consumables, which can be crafted in Mending Forges.
Mending Forges are found in Rose Lake and within a Mending Forge contains Repair Scrolls which are tied to a resource tier, i.e. Natural Iron or Refined Netherite. Each Repair Scroll requires time and ingredients to craft and can only be applied to your GWT of the same resource type.
You unlock additional Repair Scroll crafting recipes as you level up.
Upgrade Forge (GWT)
Applied specifically for Pristine & Refined Gear, you can now upgrade your them to potentially obtain better stats!
If you were to fully deplete an upgraded item, instead of breaking, it will now degrade by an upgrade level and be restored to full durability. However, if your item is already at its base level, it will still break!
Additionally, if you were to die with items that are upgraded, they are guaranteed to lose 1 upgrade level and depending on the tier of your items, additional level downgrades may be imposed.
See: Forges (Available Soon)
Enchantment Table & Custom Enchantments
The enchantment that an Enchantment Table provides is now randomized and the experience requirement for all enchantment tiers have been increased, up to level 50.
However, all enchantment rolls now have an increased chance to grant Custom Enchantments on your items, up to 3 Custom Enchantments (which is probably really rare to get but possible!).
The Enchanting mechanic is not modified, highest tier enchanting will still only consume 3 levels and 3 lapis.
Note: Custom Enchantments have been relatively unstable ever since its API was upgraded to match MC v1.20.1. It may or may not be enabled depending on conflict resolutions.
Vanilla Mob & Drop Scaling
All Vanilla Hostile Mobs (exception for some Neutral Mobs) have a level associated with them. Now, before you freak out, this level is tied to:
The distance of the player from Spawn or their bed (if set).
The amount of time the player has spent in an area.
The material of equipment of the player.
The level of equipment of the player.
The Power Level of the player (total TrixySkills levels)
The experience level of the player.
As the level increases, their stats will improve which generally meant harder to kill. However, their experience drop, mob drops and specialty item drops will be vastly increased.
Player Upgrades
As you progress through the ranks, you gain access to various Player Upgrades, which improves your general progression by giving you access to higher TrixyLevel experience gain, general cooldown on Traversals and increases the chances that you obtain various loot!
Additionally, the tier of Specialty Items that you can get from Vanilla Mobs are automatically upgraded so you don't need to worry about that.
Honorable Mentions
There's plenty of other changes which will probably take ages to give the precise information so I'll let you to explore them yourselves! However, here's some honorable mentions:
Villager trading is disabled, as always.
Beds are disabled in Nether.
Netherite Gear, Weapons and Tools now have increased stats, even when crafted with Natural Resources
Purification and Refinery is still a thing by the way.
A small category of redstone items can no longer be crafted!
Smithing Template - Netherite Upgrade is disabled for usage to preserve the superiority of Netherite items.
Iron Golems no longer drop Iron Ingots.
Diamond Ores no longer drop Diamonds.
And that's basically it!
I hope that you'll enjoy this season as I've put in a lot of effort into designing the various aspects of the game to provide you a better gaming experience. Remember though, a lot of the things mentioned here are experimental features. Some things may be unbalanced and that's just how life is, and of course, they will be adjusted as we progress, so don't worry.
Have fun as always. See you on the 12th.
